I remember being a little girl and looking with such amazement and wonder at the images in picture books. I felt transported and lost myself in all the tiny details.
Nowadays I get to illustrate the pictures for a living, isn't that wonderful? I love what I do! It is the best and most rewarding job.
I have illustrated over 25 children's books for wonderful publishers from around the world. Some of my titles include the New York Times best seller Goodnight Numbers by Danica McKellar (Crown), Little Fox, Lost by Nicole Snitselaar (Pajama Press), ABC, Baby Me! by Susan B. Katz (Random House), Un Beso Antes de Dormir by Teresa Tellechea (Ediciones SM) and Brush, Brush, Brush! (Scholastic).
I enjoy creating sweet and cute characters, especially animals and babies. I work mainly in watercolor and finish my illustrations digitally. I strive to convey warmth and love through my illustrations and some of the characters in my books have been made into plushies!
Me and my family moved from Venezuela and now I spend my days illustrating in my home studio in Florida, with my dog Lucy always by my side.
